After listening to many different people, there seem to be a consensus that everyone is moving toward a major change in their lives. Just like many folks out there, Judy and I are also looking in that direction. The hard part of change is the uncertainty of what that change will bring and how we will accept and deal with all the challenges that come with the change.
So like many that are beginning to bring themselves to a better place in their lives through change, I began to search for events in history that gave people no choice on change in their lives. The one that really stood out was from the Bible and the building of the Tower of Babel. Just as anything that is read eaither from the Bible or other sources we all have our own interpatation of what we read. This verse really stood out with a message that made me think hard. Because at this point in the world, according to the Bible, everyone spoke the same language. So everyone came together to build a tower to the heavens. A stairway to heaven so to speak. God, seeing the power of the people uniting as a whole was a very powerful force within their unity of purpose. So instead of allowing this to happen God confused their language and scattered the people across the lands. Some believe this is the time in history that the continents were created. So here is my question; by doing this did God also give the different parts of the world their own way to worship and follow him? The tower was unable to weather the test of time because it was built from man made materails, such as brick, and tar instead of mortar and stone. The whole thing was a monument to themselves as the human race showing their ability to acheive their own goals instead of giving glory to God. Now if you look at the many different way that are out there that is what is defined as religon they all seem to worship only one God of true power. So what I wonder is when we as a human race were scattered across the world did God also make sure that by giving us different ways to worship him he knew that the human race would never come together in the most powerful way of uniting as one.
There are many similarities in all the different religions out there, just as there is much controversy in each religion. There are many paths to follow as we move down this road called life and no one really knows what is in store for us as we move along the pathway. The world is changing so much every day. Look around you. Remember when it was very rare to see people from other countries moving around and uniting in the different cultures and learning more about the ways others open their hearts to a Great Creator from above? Yes, there are still those that will push wars and hatred and all sorts of things on you in the name of God. They will have you believe they are right in their own personal cause. Honestly, what I would like to know is how one can, in their heart, believe that the God of Creation is a God that would allow any type of war, hatred, or destruction of the earth and the inhabitants of his creation.
So as you decide you would like to bring change into your lives take some time to make some changes in your heart. Then make the changes in your life. Come together not for just the change in your own life. Build your world with stones and mortar, not brick and tar. God created the world for us to be joyful and uplifting. The human race is the one who brought sad and sorrowful into the world. If you let yourself go there, the tower crumbles and your world is scattered.
Change the world so that what you contribute helps make something great happen. Don’t sit back and wait until someone else moves forward.
Be a part of the forward movement, not the anchor that drags it down.
