Where do you begin when you think it is time to do a website and blog about your life?
In our wildest dreams, we never thought that people would be interested in what we do, how we think, the journeys we have taken or plan on taking, the photos and videos we make, or the different lifestyles we have chosen. Over the years, people we have met have consistently said to us, "You two should write a book." Well, we are not really writers of books, we are more the readers of books types, so writing that book was never going to happen in our lifetime. With the onset of the internet technology era, we think we may now be able to "write that book" using videos, photos, blog entries, audio clips, artwork, and every other type of media that is available to us.
In the course of the 40+ years that we have been together, we have met interesting people, went to amazing places, done some crazy and not so crazy things, and basically lived our life in the way that most suited us at the time. We have had no money, some money, a little bit more money and we have always been rich in the knowledge that there was love in our lives. We have made and, sadly, lost wonderful friends. We have lived in a variety of abodes and mostly loved every minute of it all. We have had many types of vehicles, although we are mainly remembered for the green 1976 Volkswagen Camper Van that we put half a million miles on!
So, this is us, Thom and Judy Dandridge, whose 17 year old nephew put the idea into our heads that people might actually be interested in the things we have done and the things that we continue to do. We figured if a teenager said they would follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and all the other social media that is out there at everyone's disposal, then maybe we really have something to share. Our motto has always been, "Never say I wish I had." So we always have and I guess we always will.
In the words of Neil Young, "It's better to burn out than it is to rust" and it is our hope that we continue to burn brightly for many years to come. We invite you along for the ride.
Welcome to "The Journey of Thom and Judy."
